On March 12th, Prof. Aman Wirakartakusumah, Chairman of International Union of Food Science & Technology (IUFoST) and Rector of IPMI International Business School, visited FPNU with his delegation - Professor Syamsul Maaril, Vice Rector of IPMI, and Prof. Dedi Fardiaz, an expert in food safety. President Wu Keshou of FPNU warmly received Rector Aman and his delegation on the Wumashan Campus.
At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the exchanges and cooperation in the past years. President Wu pointed out that there are huge potentials for the cooperation between China and Indonesia, and the two universities would have great prospects for collaboration by integrating the resources. He expressed the hope that the two universities could strengthen exchanges and communication through expanding new areas of collaboration, jointly deepening the cooperation in the fields of economy, education, science and technology, effectively promoting the project of “Two Countries, Twin Parks” between China and Indonesia and the development of the two universities. He also hoped that Rector Aman would continue to support the discipline construction of food science at FPNU, introduce high-level talents in related fields, and jointly build an international scientific research team.
Rector Aman briefly introduced the IUFoST and IPMI. He showed great willingness to further the cooperation between the two universities. He indicated that IPMI was willing to play its own advantages on the basis of the joint research on food science, expand the collaboration in business management, leadership promotion, and Halal certification, and push ahead with the activities and programs such as exchange visits, joint research, and cooperation in running schools.
Rector Aman and his delegation also visited History Exhibition Hall of FPNU, accompanied by FPNU Vice President Jiang, Prof. Rao Pingfan, and responsible persons of Office of Academic Affairs, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Food and Bioengineering and School of Qiaoxing Economics and Management. During the visit, the two universities are to carry out in-depth exchanges through talks and discussions, to visit cooperative enterprises in Yuanhong International Food Industrial Park, and to organize seminars amongst experts from the Fujian Province - Indonesia Marine Food Joint Research and Development Centre.
